Finally last day (22nd Sept.),
Land Rover has successfully launched its highly acclaimed SUV
Freelander 2 in the Indian Market. This latest SUV is priced around
Rs. 35 lakhs (or less, excluding local taxes).

This new
Land Rover Freelander 2 from Tata Moters is constructed on a unibody structure that is shared with the
Ford Mondeo which is different from the other SUVs that generally have body-on-frame structure.
Powered by a 2.2 Litre common rail turbodiesel engine which is mounted transversely provides extra space for better crash protection, front end styling and a shorter bonnet that maximizes the cabin space. Freelander has achieved a full
5 stars in the
EURO NCAP for adult protection - a first in its class because of all that and a rigid monocoque body and shell. Land Rover’s trademark
Terrain Response System also comes as standard.
Well, due to 100% import duty, this Land Rover is also heavily priced like the other imported cars. This latest launch is being sold at UK at half the price of the cost of FreeLander 2 in India that is at around Rs. 17 lakhs.
Apart form Land Rover Freelander 2, other launches by Tata Motors includes
Range Rover Sport,
Range Rover and
Discovery 3.
